Theme year 2020: Man and truth
People were once again at the heart of the 2020 theme year: in the topics and also directly in the various events and activities that the MAINZER WISSENSCHAFTSALLIANZ 2020 invited people to take part in!
During the theme year "Humans and Truth," various scientific disciplines addressed questions such as: How are terms such as truth and reality defined? And how do they differ across time and cultures? How do neurology, psychology, and other sciences attempt to identify what we perceive as reality/truth? Is there such a thing as objective truth?
During the theme year, you could find out about the projects being researched by the many scientific institutions in Mainz in this field. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many events had to be adapted and took place virtually or on a smaller scale outdoors, at Mainz lebt auf seinen Plätzen (Mainz lives in its squares) on the Mainz Rhine beach.
