The city

Mainz, the state capital, operates more than 60 daycare centers and is one of the largest employers in this sector in the Rhine-Main region. As a business hub and center of academia, the city is part of one of Germany’s most dynamic regions.

At the same time, Mainz remains a personal and manageable place: thanks to a well-developed rail and road network, it’s easy to live, work, and study close to one another.

Live Mainz!

But the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate not only offers excellent career prospects, it also provides ideal conditions for private life: nestled in the lively Rhine-Main area and the charming Rhine-Hesse countryside, the city is also an ideal starting point for tours and excursions. But you don't actually have to go that far: the "bustling life" begins right on your doorstep in this charming wine metropolis: in cosmopolitan, lively Mainz, people enjoy themselves and celebrate all year round. Mainz

also has a lot to offer culturally. The young scene in particular is thriving here with clubs, Rhine beaches, film festivals, and a wide range of nightlife and shopping opportunities.

Strong partners for lifelong learning

Knowledge creates the future – these are not empty words, but everyday practice in the science city of Mainz. Johannes Gutenberg University is one of the largest universities in Germany and also the science center of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to research and teaching, continuing education is one of its core tasks, with its own Center for Continuing Education (ZWW). Other partners in the Mainz Science Alliance (opens in a new tab) include the University Medical Center, Mainz University of Applied Sciences (architecture, design, economics), the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (social sciences), and many other research institutes and commercial enterprises.
