Our handling of your data and your rights

We document this responsibility in our Privacy Policy.

The Data Protection Officer of Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz and the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate are available to assist you.

We receive your data directly from you, or it is collected and processed in accordance with legal regulations.

Your data will only be disclosed to the extent permitted by law.

In addition, the following entities may receive your data:

• Processors engaged by Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz (Art. 28 GDPR), particularly in the areas of IT services, logistics, and printing services, who process your data on our behalf in accordance with our instructions
• Third parties where there is a legal, contractual, or regulatory obligation

To the extent necessary, we process your personal data only for the duration of the processing. Different retention periods apply.

In addition, we are subject to various retention and documentation obligations arising, among other things, from the German Fiscal Code (AO), etc. Retention and documentation periods can be up to 30 years. Data from the online plan inquiry (registration data, orders) will be deleted after two years of inactivity in your user account.

We only transfer your data to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) (third countries) if this is necessary for the execution of legal administrative actions.

The data is provided as part of the official application process in accordance with legal requirements.

In principle, no automated decision-making takes place in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR.

No profiling of your data will take place.

Right to object in individual cases

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is carried out on the basis of Article 6 (1) e) GDPR (data processing based on a balancing of interests). If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Right to object to the processing of data for direct marketing purposes

Mainz does not use direct marketing. The objection can be made informally.
