These goods can be recognized by the Fair Trade seal. The range of products on offer has long since expanded beyond coffee and tea. It now includes flowers, food, toys, carpets, confectionery, and juices. In addition to world shops, organic markets, and tea and coffee shops, numerous drugstores and supermarkets now also offer products with the Fair Trade seal.

According to the guidelines of Transfair e.V., in order to be listed as a business in the "Fair Trade Towns" campaign, at least two Fair Trade products must be offered in the product range. The most important criteria for Fair Trade are the prohibition of illegal child labor and forced labor, as well as the creation of humane working conditions and guaranteed minimum prices. The sale of certified fair trade products supports producers in low-income countries.
