Mainz thinks globally – for over 25 years, associations, groups, and initiatives in Mainz have been committed to promoting a sustainable lifestyle. Today, all efforts to inform, raise awareness, and motivate are centered around the United Nations' 17 global sustainability goals, known as SDGs. These were adopted in 2015 with the Agenda 2030. Under the motto "Think globally – act locally," the focus is on conscious lifestyles, environmental and climate protection, energy conservation, health, regional cycles, global engagement and responsibility, social projects, environmentally friendly mobility, and much more.
