Noteingang - Where children can find help

An offer from Main institutions and store owners to provide support for children in emergency situations.

Logo of the child safety project "Emergency entrance"

Emergency contact points are locations along school routes where private businesses and public institutions voluntarily agree to help children in need.

The help covers acute everyday problems that seem like emergencies to children, such as injuries, lost keys, or bullying.

These businesses can be recognized by the yellow sticker on the entrance door, which signals: "Children can find help here."

Criteria for incoming grades

  • Location along school routes, not remote
  • Opening hours during relevant times
  • Trustworthy, helpful business owners
  • Access to the business must not be via a back yard.
  • It must be a store or facility open to the public.
  • The store or facility must be visible from the outside.

Participation and support

With this offer, shop owners and institutions provide help in the form of low-threshold social engagement when children need support in an emergency. Employees are asked to pay special attention to children in need and to take care of them. A list of emergency numbers and behavioral tips are provided. An agreement is concluded regarding the use of the sticker.

What can parents do?

Talk to your child about emergency hotlines for children if you want your child to be aware of this service and be able to use it in an emergency, and give your child a phone number where you can be reached in an emergency.
