Financial aid

Here you will find offers for financial benefits such as basic security in old age, housing benefit, MainzPass and the energy-saving check, a free energy consultation.

There are various forms of financial assistance available in Mainz, such as the MainzPass, housing assistance, and basic income support for seniors and those with reduced earning capacity (welfare). The care support centers and the relevant agencies can provide you with advice on these matters. Currently, the City of Mainz is offering the "Stromspar-Check," a free energy consultation.

MainzPass

The MainzPass is a voluntary service provided by the state capital of Mainz. It makes it easier for Mainz residents to participate in social life, especially in the areas of culture, sports, and leisure.

Housing benefit

Housing benefit is intended to enable you to live in appropriate, family-friendly accommodation. You can receive housing benefit as a rent subsidy for tenants or subtenants of residential accommodation or for residents of a home (residential home residents as defined by the respective state law; this also includes people with disabilities who are not only temporarily admitted to special forms of housing for the purpose of providing integration assistance) or as
a cost subsidy for owners of a private home or condominium
.

Basic income support in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity (social assistance)

If your income in old age (pension) or in the event of full incapacity for work is not sufficient to cover your necessary living expenses, you can apply for basic income support.
