Career recognition fair: International professionals and local employers
Career Recognition Fair on April 23, 2026, 4 to 6 p.m., in the Große Bleiche town hall: Advice, application and career entry for international professionals.
6th job recognition fair in Mainz
For the sixth time, the Employment Agency, the Mainz Job Center, and the City of Mainz, together with their partner institutions, are hosting the Professional Recognition Fair. What began three years ago as a small informational event has since become a regular fixture in Mainz.
“We are very pleased that the fair has become such a great success. Every year, it brings together hundreds of people with international professional qualifications and makes an important contribution to strengthening the regional labor market and promoting integration—a benefit not only for Mainz but also for the entire region,” emphasizes Mayor Nino Haase.
Heike Strack, Chair of the Executive Board of the Employment Agency, adds: “Especially in light of the realization that, as the baby boomer generation exits the labor market, the current shortage of workers and skilled professionals in Rheinhessen can only be offset by the influx of people with foreign passports, formats like this one are particularly important.”
The recognition of foreign professional qualifications is often a complex and bureaucratic process. At the fair, international skilled workers will therefore receive direct information on the steps of the recognition process as well as on possible adaptation training. Another offering at the fair is a workshop for immigrant women on the topic of AI and job applications.
This is particularly close to the heart of the Job Center’s director, Marc Salzmann. “Numerous studies and our own findings show that many women—due to caregiving responsibilities for their families, but also due to other cultural divisions of labor—need significantly more support than men to successfully launch their careers. My staff will be on hand at the fair to provide guidance not only to them but also to all clients who rely on financial assistance from the Job Center.”
Job exchange: Employers from Mainz and the region
Among other things, the fair features a job fair that facilitates direct interaction between job seekers and employers from Mainz and the surrounding region. This gives companies the opportunity to showcase themselves and their job openings and to engage with potential new employees.
