Oberstadt: Information on the election of the new local councillor

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, seven candidates will be running in the Oberstadt district in the election for the office of the new mayor.

The polling stations in the upper town are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. – after they close, the results will be determined in the 12 ballot box districts and eight postal voting districts.

If none of the candidates receives such a qualified majority, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will enter the runoff election on March 22, 2026.

Information on the election results will be available on Sunday, March 8, 2026, after the polling stations close in the evening at www.mainz.de/wahlen (opens in a new tab)
