International regulars' table for skilled workers: "Network - Exchange - Inform"
On May 20, 2026, the second international professionals' get-together in Mainz will take place at Stadthaus Große Bleiche. Under the motto "Network - Exchange - Inform", the City of Mainz and the Mainz University Medical Center are inviting professionals from Germany and abroad to make contacts in a relaxed atmosphere and find out more about living and working in Mainz and the region.
The Professional Networking Group creates a space where international and domestic professionals can engage in conversation and learn from one another. This not only strengthens the local economy but also fosters a sense of community in our city.
Clubs, initiatives, and many other volunteers make a crucial contribution to fostering a sense of community in Mainz. From carnival clubs and sports clubs to numerous charitable organizations and migrant self-help groups, they collectively shape the Mainz way of life. On this evening, several clubs from the fields of sports, culture, and social engagement will introduce themselves. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about club structures and recreational offerings in Mainz and to make direct, personal contact with some of the clubs.
Mayor Nino Haase welcomes this commitment and particularly highlights its importance for Mainz and for people who are new to the city: “Mainz’s clubs contribute to integration, promote participation, and thereby also help secure a skilled workforce in Mainz by enabling people not only to find work here but also to become part of the Mainz way of life.”
Manuela Matz, Head of the Economic Affairs Department, also emphasizes: “This is of particular importance for the city’s attractiveness as a business location, not only for existing and potential companies but also for international skilled workers who choose Mainz as a business location and strengthen it in the long term.”
“Mainz University Medical Center is open to qualified professionals from all over the world. We currently employ people from over 100 nations. With their expertise, they not only contribute to the success of our patient care, research, and teaching, but they also make #TeamUM a place of intercultural encounter and international collaboration,” explains Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ralf Kiesslich, Chairman of the Board and Chief Medical Officer of Mainz University Medical Center.
The Professionals’ Roundtable is intended as a regular forum for meeting and exchange. The plan is to continue the format at fixed intervals in the future and enable professionals to engage in ongoing exchange.
In addition, the roundtable also offers a platform for companies: They can connect directly with international professionals, present their support services, and benefit from the participants’ experiences.
Those interested can register by emailing migration.integrationstadt.mainzde—last-minute attendees without a registration are also welcome.
