Payment transactions (direct debits)
In payment transactions, which belong to the city treasury, all debits of the city administration of Mainz are made.
This includes all municipal receivables that are generally recurring, such as property tax and dog tax.
Exceptions to this are, for example, sewage charges and similar receivables that are debited by municipal companies.
This department is responsible for handling the city administration's payment transactions. This includes posting all incoming payments to city accounts, handling all e-payment processes, and executing all disbursements. It is also the point of contact for all banks and external payment service providers.
Furthermore, the Girokasse handles direct debits for the state capital of Mainz.
This means that if a citizen of the state capital of Mainz has issued a SEPA direct debit mandate, the amount will be debited from the respective account. This mainly concerns recurring claims such as property tax, dog tax, or trade tax.
