SchUM cities Speyer, Worms, Mainz e.V.
The SchUM Cities Speyer, Worms, Mainz e.V. association was founded on the occasion of the application for UNESCO World Heritage status for the Jewish heritage sites in Speyer, Worms, and Mainz. Until 2020, one of the association's main tasks was to develop the management plan as part of the nomination dossier for the UNESCO World Heritage application.
Since its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the association has been working in cooperation with the state, ministries, cities, specialist agencies, institutions, scientific and museum facilities, tourist organizations, educational institutions, associations, and interested private individuals to further develop and communicate the Jewish heritage of the SchUM sites, plan projects and measures, and implement a uniform public image.
The aim is to preserve Germany's first Jewish UNESCO World Heritage Site for future generations, to communicate it and thus make it even more accessible, based on UNESCO guidelines.
