The designation of events has several implications:

• Organizers and providers of such events are exempt from certain restrictions that apply to other commercial activities (so-called market privileges).
• Organizers have special obligations in the interest of ensuring that events run smoothly.

The State Law on Trade Fairs, Exhibitions, and Markets (LMAMG) (opens in a new tab) applies, as does the current legal ordinance on the determination of market Sundays for certain types of events, which you can find under further information.

It must be possible to assign the event to a specific event type under Sections 2 to 8 LMAMG.
Private markets or mixed events are not covered by the LMAMG.

The classification of an event in accordance with the LMAMG means that the event can be held under a number of concessions, known as market privileges.

The amount of the fee depends on the time required.
