This declaration applies to the website www.mainz.de and its associated microsites, but not to externally linked offers and services or those embedded via iFrame or code. The accessibility requirements are based on Sections 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of BITV 2.0, which was enacted on the basis of Section 12d BGG.

The state capital of Mainz strives to fully comply with the current accessibility requirements in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Mainz.de is largely compatible with the current accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1, conformance level AA). The requirements are based on the harmonized European standard EN 301 549.

The HTML code is generated by the content management system used for mainz.de in accordance with the rules for accessible web design (BITV 2.0). The front-end code (HTML and CSS) is validated according to W3C specifications. Special functions for changing the font size and a special contrast mode are not implemented, as these functions are already provided by browsers or individual assistive technologies.

This accessibility statement is based on the assessment of the website's compliance with the requirements of BITV 2.0, which was commissioned by the state capital of Mainz and carried out by the provider of the content management system (CMS).

We therefore strive to ensure accessibility in our daily editorial processes. Accessibility is an integral part of editorial guidelines and training courses for decentralized editors of specialist pages in the content management system. This applies, for example, to:
