Für die Entschärfung ist eine Evakuierung notwendig. Der Evakuierungsradius wird etwa 250 Meter vom Fundort betragen. Die Personen im Evakuierungsbereich sind aufgefordert, den Bereich am Mittwochmorgen (17. Juni 2026) bis spätestens 8 Uhr geräumt zu haben. Erst nachdem der Bereich kontrolliert und freigegeben wurde, kann die Entschärfung beginnen. Die Dauer dieser Arbeiten kann nicht abgeschätzt werden.

During construction work in the park on Fritz-Bockius-Straße, the remains of a 250-kilogram American World War II bomb were found on Tuesday afternoon. The Rhineland-Palatinate Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service, the police, and the fire department—all of whom were immediately notified—inspected the bomb and determined that the easily accessible unexploded ordnance still contained an intact fuse and needed to be defused.
