Department VII - Regulatory Affairs and Traffic Monitoring
Welcome to the website of Department VII.
Department VII is responsible for the Public Order Office and the Traffic Monitoring Office. Both the Public Order Office and the Traffic Monitoring Office actively contribute to orderly coexistence in our city through reliability, integrity, and responsible, prudent action. Their actions are always legally compliant and citizen-oriented, with a focus on prevention and mediation in order to ensure that public life is fair and smooth.
The area of public order encompasses a wide range of different tasks that serve to protect public safety and order in our city. These tasks include, among other things, regulatory support and monitoring of events, the central enforcement and investigation service, activities in commercial and restaurant law, food monitoring tasks, and the lost property office.
Traffic monitoring includes the traffic monitoring departments with their field service, the fines office with its towing services, and the traffic department with its driver's license authority and vehicle registration authority. The range of tasks extends from carrying out speed checks within towns and monitoring stationary traffic to exchanging "old" driving licenses for the new EU-standard documents.
Further detailed information on the services provided by the department can be found on the pages of our offices. The department team is happy to answer any questions, suggestions, or criticism you may have.
