You must report any changes during the validity period of the parking permit to the road traffic authority immediately, otherwise your parking permit will expire immediately.

A change/reissue is necessary in the event of:

• Change of license plate number or
• Change of residence Move to another resident parking area

In these cases, we will issue you with a new resident parking permit.

To request a change, please visit: 

• Citizens' office (town hall)
• Local administration
• Road Traffic Authority (Citadel)

We can issue you with a resident parking permit immediately on site. If you apply in writing, we will send you the permit promptly at no additional cost.

Return/return

You must return your old permit after receiving the new one, as it is still valid.

You have a resident parking permit for the state capital of Mainz.

We can also list up to two vehicle registration numbers on the resident parking permit. However, only one vehicle with the same permit may park in the resident parking area at any given time.

• Section 6 (1) No. 14 of the Road Traffic Act (StVG) in conjunction with Section 42 (2) sentence 1 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO),
• Section 45(1)(b) sentence 1 no. 2 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO)
• Section 1 of the Schedule of Fees for Road Traffic Measures in conjunction with the Schedule of Fees

If you apply in person, you will receive your new ID card immediately; otherwise, it will be sent to you shortly.

In case of changes due to a change of vehicle or residence:

• Identity card
• Vehicle registration certificate (registration certificate I)
• Old resident parking permit (must be handed in)
• If applicable, written confirmation from the vehicle owner regarding sole right of use
• Details of name, address, current telephone number, and current vehicle registration number

For written applications:

• Copy of the vehicle registration certificate or identity card (depending on the change in question)
• Copy of the resident parking permit

Once you have received your new parking permit, you must return your old permit, as it is still valid.

A processing fee of €15 will be charged for any changes or rewrites.
