If your company card expires, you can

• as an entrepreneur or
• as a representative or authorized person

apply for a replacement card.

The company card is issued impersonally to your company and is valid for 5 years after personalization by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). You must apply for a new replacement card in good time before the card expires. You can submit the application at the earliest 6 months before the expiry date.

As an entrepreneur, you are responsible for the proper use of the card or cards. In addition, you must ensure that the company card is inserted into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle's use for your company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to your company.

• Your company uses vehicles that must be equipped with a digital tachograph.  
• Your company already has a company card that needs to be renewed.

There are no notes or special features.

• Application deadline: 6 months
  You can renew your company card at the earliest 6 months before its expiry date.

District administrations or municipal administrations of independent cities and large district-affiliated cities

• Application for renewal of company card
• Verifiable documents confirming the name, address, and registered office of the company
• Proof of identity of the entrepreneur or the person or persons authorized to represent the company in accordance with the law, articles of association, or partnership agreement
