Through contract management, the department ensures a clear division of roles in the relationship between the state capital of Mainz as the owner of its buildings and Gebäudewirtschaft Mainz (municipal enterprise) as the central service provider for the planning, construction, and management of municipal properties.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Contract management: Development and implementation of a structured system for managing the relationship between the state capital of Mainz and Gebäudewirtschaft Mainz (GWM)
- Construction standards: Creation of uniform specifications and processes for the areas of new construction, renovation, and management of municipal buildings
- Supplement management: Central processing of all incoming supplement claims exceeding €20,000 in the handling of construction projects for the state capital of Mainz
Financial responsibility
In addition, the department is responsible for the flow of funds from the municipal budget for the implementation of all investment building construction projects, e.g., schools, daycare centers, and other public buildings.
