• Proof of a valid general inspection (unless noted on Certificate of Registration Part I)
• The previous license plates or the remaining plate
• Police report of theft, if the license plates were stolen
• Declaration of loss, if a license plate has been lost

If represented by an authorized representative, additionally

• Identification document of the authorized representative and the person granting power of attorney
• Signed declaration of loss of license plate with grant of power of attorney

For vehicles registered to minors, additionally

• Written consent from both legal guardians
• Identification documents of the legal guardians
• If applicable, custody order

For commercially registered vehicles, the following additional documents are required:

For companies registered in the Commercial Register

• Extract from the Commercial Register (from the local court) / Business registration (neither more than 3 years old)
• Power of attorney from the management or authorized signatory, along with identification (copy) if registration is being handled by a third party
• ID of the authorized person

For associations (e.V.)

• Extract from the register of associations
• Power of attorney from the chairperson with ID (copies) if registration is handled by a third party
• ID of the authorized person

For civil law partnerships (GbR)

• List of all partners (partnership agreement)
• Power of attorney and declaration stating the natural person to whom the registration is to be granted (signed by all partners)
• Identification documents of all partners
