The department handles circulation and interlibrary loans (obtaining materials not held in our collection from other libraries). The City Library serves as the regional library for Mainz and Rheinhessen. The regional collection, built up over centuries, houses books and journals from and about Rheinhessen, which are cataloged in the Rhineland-Palatinate Bibliography.
